Because I always have a constant fear of being late, I woke up at 7 am this morning to leave at 8 am for a class at 9 am. Turns out, it takes about 15 minutes for me to walk to class. I ended up getting there so early that I had about half an hour to hangout at la Place de Zurich, where there are markets on Wednesdays (today) and Sundays. When class finally started, it lasted three hours. Although I find learning a new language very difficult, it pays off when I can walk into a cafe or bar and order for myself. I never thought that things that are so easy at home, like buying soap, could be so difficult. After class, my program group went to a small place for lunch to celebrate my classmate's birthday. Then, we headed over the University of Strasbourg to take a placement exam for our French classes, which was so hard. I spent the afternoon exploring downtown Strasbourg with Jen and Kathleen (two fellow Kalamazoo students). This city is beautiful!

These boats are actually restaurants, and night clubs in the evenings.

We hung out at a cafe, doing our homework and drinking hot chocolates.

Tonight, I am going to see the light show at the Cathedral! More pictures to come.
